The EIC is having state of art laboratories at Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, all NABL Accredited as per ISO 17025 and capable to carry out analysis of samples as per international requirements. In addition, Ten EIA Sub-Offices has basic laboratory facilities to cater day-to-day needs. Three labs Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata are accredited as per ISO 17043 as Proficiency Testing Provider. EIA Kochi Laboratory has been recognized as National Reference Laboratory for GMO testing by Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India. EIA Chennai and EIA Kolkata Laboratory are also recognized as Ancillary facility to NRL by FSSAI.
Integrated assessment for laboratories:
Integrated assessment is a unified approach to have a common assessment of laboratories for NABL And Regulatory Body such as Export Inspection Council EIC, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority APEDA, Indian Oilseeds and Produce Export Promotion Council IOPEPC, other commodity board under the ambit of Department of Commerce, Govt. of India and Food Safety And Standards Authority of India FSSAI under Ministry of Health And Family Welfare, Govt. of India. This integrated approach will ease laboratories in getting accredited by NABL in conjunction with the recognition approval by the concerned Regulatory Body through a single assessment or application.
